It's the last week of May and summer's getting ever closer! We hope that you're all staying safe and enjoying the warm weather. Today's newsletter is a short one, including a payroll-related feature highlight and our usual look into upcoming features.

Did You Know...

FieldClock can handle adding automatic minimum wage adjustments (MWA's) if configured to do so in a payroll entity. To enable this feature, navigate to the desired entity and hit 'Edit payroll' at the top-left corner of the screen. Once the edit form is opened, you'll see 'Add Minimum Wage Adjustments' and the option to hit 'Yes' or 'No'. Select 'Yes'.

Once enabled, MWA's act as an hourly wage with a quantity of hours equal to the employee's total hours worked at a job. The MWA hourly rate will be equivalent to the difference between the employee's effective hourly rate and the minimum hourly rate determined by an employee's minimum wage.

MWA's will process for Piecework and Hourly + Piecework jobs. For pure Hourly jobs, minimum wage will already be automatically prefered if higher than the employee's custom wage and the job's set hourly wage (as can be read about here).

So, for example, if an employee's effective hourly rate at a job is $11.00/hr, but their minimum wage is $13.00/hr (and MWA is enabled), a Minimum Wage Adjustment will be automatically added upon the job being finalized.

MWA's are calculated by determining an employee's total earnings for a Piecework job divided by the total hours worked for the job, which gives us their effective hourly rate for the job (essentially an averaged pay). The MWA will then be added when the job is finalized, making up the difference between the initial inedaquate pay (as it's below minimum wage), and the employee's minimum wage.
